Looking For An Affordable New Bakkie? The Mahindra Bolero Is Priced Under R200,000!

The local bakkie market is rife with options. Automakers have an array of bakkies making up their portfolios, and each model range brings something unique to the table. Mahindra, for instance, has two bakkies to choose from - The Mahindra Bolero and Pik Up.

Of course, higher up the price spectrum, the options are more refined, more specialized, and with more powerful engines. Lower down, however, the offerings are more affordable. Find out more about the budget-friendly Bolero bakkie in South Africa.

Mahindra Bolero 2.5Di Maxitruck Plus

The Bolero is one of the true workhorses in the South African bakkie market. As the most affordable new bakkie in the country, it is powered by a 46kW 2.5-litre diesel engine and a five-speed manual gearbox. The torque figure isn't earthshattering either, coming in at a relatively low 195Nm. Yet, while these figures aren't setting any records, it serves the bakkie well as it aims to execute its purpose.

The Bolero weighs a respectable 1 471kg and boasts a 1 150L loading bay. There is nothing to write home about feature-wise, but it does feature a 12-volt power socket and power steering.

A three-year or 100 000km warranty is standard, but a service plan is optional.
