Mahindra is working on an update for the Bolero which will be launched in India in June 2021. A single image that surfaced on the web revealed the minor changes that the model is slated to receive soon. Under the hood, the new Mahindra Bolero will be powered by the same 1.5-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine from the outgoing model. This BS6-compliant motor is tuned to produce 75bhp and 210Nm of torque. Transmission options are limited to a five-speed manual unit.   Changes to the exterior of the 2021 Mahindra Bolero include a dual-tone paint job that features a red body colour and a silver colour treatment for the grille and front bumper.    Also on offer are minor revisions to the headlamps. The leaked image showcased a lower variant of the SUV, and hence it has missed out on features such as body-coloured ORVMs and fog lights. Electric vehicles should overtake high fuel consuming cars in India by the end of the decade, as prices become more aligned, and infrastructure and technology improve with help from the government, automaker Mahindra and Mahindra said on January 25. In conversation with Bloomberg, Managing Director Anish Shah said authorities can help in the realm of cost parity, however, it remains difficult for the government to justify subsidising cars for the rich. “In three to five years’ time, we will have modern electric platforms in India” and cars with internal combustion engines will start to be phased out, Shah said, adding that it is in 2030 that the automaker sees a tipping point where electric vehicles could potentially take over ICE engines in terms of sales. A new video showing the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 has surfaced online. The video reveals that the SUV gets dynamic turn signals at the front. The SUV is also expected to get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The SUV gets large boomerang-shaped headlamp clusters with integrated LED daytime running lights, flush-fitting door handles and a re-profiled grille with a 7-slat design. It will also be equipped with leatherette seats, fake wood finish on the steering wheel, panoramic sunroof and central rear AC vents. Higher variants are also likely to get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, autonomous emergency braking and lane departure warning. The next-gen Mahindra XUV500 could be offered with a 2.0-litre mStallion T-GDi turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel unit.
